All-a-Boy and the Mo-Tab Choir

Remember when All-a-Boy wrote a letter to the director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir with suggestions for their next performance during our church's General Conference?

I can't believe I forgot to post the response!

My favorite line is this:

With your energy and creative skills, I'm quite sure your future is bright.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Happy Birthday, All-a-Boy! Never stop changing the world.

It never fails to amaze me that our enormous, world-wide church of millions and millions of members always remembers to treat the individual with respect and love.

We wrote to President Hinckley some years ago, just expressing our love and testimonies via pictures that my tiny children had drawn. Imagine our delight to get a response thanking us for our letters.

We noticed that there was, indeed, a primary song sung during this past General Conference--it wasn't Popcorn Popping, but my kids' heads popped right up when the choir sang and yelled, "Hey we know that song!"

Isn't that just what your boy predicted would happen?

That post with All-a-boy's letter was the first one I saw. I was hooked right then!

Yeah for All-a-Boy! I am so glad he got a response. I love the line too. So personal and I am sure true! Cool.

Pretty cool that he got a signed response from Mack Wilburg.

Happy birthday to your precocious kid. :)

(*Gerb: please edit. Where's spell check when I need it?!)

I work with a man that sings in the Choir. Do you think All-a-boy will be impressed with me?

That zany kid has some spunk, I tell ya! So remarkable to see the fruits of his efforts in such a plain and simple way!

A life lesson for us all...

Anaise- It is amazing, isn't it? And what a great memory for your family.

Martha- Thanks for coming back again and again. :)

Gina- I am sure the quick response was largely due to your dad's personal delivery of the letter. We have fun guessing which guy in the choir is your dad.

Bec- He loves it, too. He keeps it in a special file.

And he loves when people use the word precocious to describe him.

GaeLynn- I told him and he said that was cool and to tell him that All-a-Boy says hi. I asked him how the guy would know him and he said, "I'm sure they all remember my letter." As if it was read aloud to the choir. I love the way his brain works.

Chip- He teaches me lessons every single day. It's awesome.

MnM- Agreed. Very cool! I'm actually surprised it didn't prompt letters to other people that he'd enjoy hearing back from.

As I was in the lunchroom yesterday, All-a-Boy made it a point to invite me to sit with him because, "Your usual spot is taken, Mr. Z."

After we sat down he made a point to read the joke off of his lunch sack and turn it so that I could read that it was indeed his birthday. I think he was expecting stacks of money or something...but don't worry, I didn't give in.
