I like all of those things, too! Especially if the beach is in a warm place, with warm water. And my favorite types of donuts are featured in the center of that picture: Bavarian Cream, Crueller, and Cinnamon Twist. Oh, yum. And steak--only when I'm pregnant do I crave that stuff the way I do. And it's really hard to find a good steak that satisfies my cravings. And here's something you may not know about me: I have a fascination with old cars. My dad used to restore Model A's, and he taught me to drive a stick shift in one of his half-restored cars. And when I was 16, I dreamed of getting a 1960s Mustang. I thought it was such a sexy car!
You and I share many of the same "favorites" though I certainly would have thought that you would have had raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens someplace in the mix...
I'm trying to figure out which of your children is not among the favorites... haven't pinpointed it yet, though.
Is that a karman gia(sp?) or am I mistaking that for an older model porche? Either way...that photo and the one of the ocean take me back!!!!-Trish
These have been so enjoyable to look at and read! Maybe some time I will copy you and do this too. Favorite things has definitely been on my mind to do sometime. I like that you made it wordless.
Rebecca-Cool that we share the fascination with old cars. I did not know that about you! The one pictured is by far my favorite, but mine would be white.Teachin' 4th-Great minds think alike! I almost included a photo of rain but wanted to narrow my choices down to just 10. That's almost like raindrops on roses...but I definitely would not have included any form of cat.Sarah-Our littlest princess is not in the mix. The photo was taken before her time, when the towhead kid was the baby. I was sorta hoping no one would notice she wasn't included - she is indeed one of my favorite things!AnonyTrish-I thought about using a picture of a Karmann Ghia, as I did drool over those a bit, too - but the Bathtub Porsche is definitely my favorite. Do you remember my stopping by that antique dealership by the beach over and over just to admire the white Bathtub Porsche? And then they sold it.
About the Crew-I'd love to see a post of your favorite things. And for me, wordless is always a good thing. Sometimes I think I say too much!
WOW!! We have a lot of the same favorite things!! I love the picture of the little hand...oh, how adorable!! Then, all the other ones...how fun!!! I am really glad that we share favorite things!!! I am grateful for your favorite little ones...they bring back such happy feelings!!
OK, so 3 strikes and i'm out!! I typed in my clever comment this morning right after bec, and poof it was gone and so was my wireless connection - got it all fixed and tried to type in another and remember all I'd joked about and sent it off. Several hours later I even dropped by, so happy that I'd posted fun stuff on your blog this morning... geezers!! It still never went!! But I remember how it started: EXCELLENT favorites!! I concur all the way... even those adorable Blacklets are among my favorite things. Ahh I so need a warm beach these days, and a KARMAN GHIA to get from there to the French Bakery as well as the latin market for cilantro & limes...ok, I'll type in the weird letters and test this, then write the rest.
WAH-HOO! I did it!...So how long did it take you to gather & post the fun fav pics? -Reality check for me-there goes any ganas I had for having my blog-just posting a comment takes ME all day! ...OK, so, as for STEAK - Yum, the BEST!! Pregnant or not, it's always been what I crave! And poor Bec- you just miss the aroma & taste of that outstanding Carne Asada your former next door neighbors were always cooking. Good thing your mijas were in tight with the Papa!Hey Gerb, that's it-we've got to cross the great divide of our backyards' waaard boundaries and get the Black's & Juarez's together for a Guatefood fest! (Black beans & homemade corn tortilla's are even cheaper than your potato soup - so we can spluge on the steak & fresh salsa).Yah, wordless... ok so i'll stop.Moral of this never-ending comment:NEVER ever move far, far away!
Cherie, You're going to make me cry. It might be worth the roundtrip ticket price just to take in the aroma of your Guatefeast. (Would they let me board at this point?) You know, once I brought home a half-gallon of Thrifty ice cream from SoCal in a cooler for Gerb, and several times I've had my family members freeze Cafe Rio take-out and bring it to me on an airplane when they visit. So, if that type of thing doesn't work with your yummy Carne Asada and black beans, can't you just start a food blog, and try to teach me how to make those delicious things for myself? Maybe we can have a community food blog that we can all contribute to...
I love the favorite things and those are great pictures.
