We bought some of the brightest of these And did some of this on them Then we drove over here And sent our messages of love to the heavens Then watched as the sky swallowed them up. We shared some great memories And visited some friends. We marveled over the beautiful landscape Then headed back home. It was a happy Memorial Day.

Just wonderful. What a great way to remember your Dad.
You always make me smile, Gerb. Also, those were beautiful images...they weren't taken with a new camera were they, perchance?
Your dad was smiling, I'm sure.
I love this!
What a great idea! I love it!
What a great idea to remember loved ones. I really enjoyed your post.
Rory- Thanks. That means a lot to me.
BTM- One of these years we should plan a balloon launch for Gma & Gpa at the same time... my kids would think that was cool.
T5th- Why yes, it was a new camera. And I agree- I have no doubt he was smiling. :) Thanks.
Sis. P- Muchas gracias. My dad was never much of a "flowers" kind of guy. This seemed much more fitting.
Kimm- Thank you! It is actually an idea taken from someone else's idea, but it was grand all the same. I think it may be a new tradition.
Crystal- Thanks for reading! And BTW, I loved the peeps picture.
Oh, my, this post brought tears to my eyes. Next year, I am taking balloons to my grandma and grandpa's grave.
