Maybe You Should Read It Again...

Mike is one of my best friends. I met Mike the same night I met Allen, so we've known each other a good, long time. He is considered a brother to Allen and I, an uncle to the kids. Mike calls us often, which we appreciate since we aren't so great at calling him. When I answer the phone, he usually says something like this:

"Flamerta? What's up? Anything new?"

To which I used to respond, "Nope, nothing new. Same old, same old."

Mike told me at one point that, if I was ever NOT pregnant, I could instead answer, "Well, I'm not pregnant!" And har, har, har, we'd always have a good laugh over that one.

Mike just got married this month, to the beautiful Any (pronounced like Annie). I am looking forward to calling him sometime and asking, "What's new?" and hearing the response, "Any's pregnant!" No pressure, though, Mike & Any.

And, by the way, nothing new around here.

Gerb-does that mean that you have news? If so, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

"Happy are the Allen and Gerberta who have their quiver full." If any couple should have a brimming quiver, it should be you two! Three cheers! (Actually NINE cheers is more like it!)

So....really. Does this mean number nine is on the way? Don't leave us all in suspense.

Maybe I SHOULD read it again.

This is the best news! And this child is so very lucky to come to one of the greatest families ever. I am so proud of you woman!

Do we get to know details on birthdate? Waiting patiently . . .

Congratulations!

You are amazing.

Did they put something in the water here in P-town? Everyone is pregnant. I better stick to bottled water!

Hey! Congratulations! The more Blacks in this world- the better! (Truth: It took me until I read the comments to clue in!) If you get sick and need to pawn off 4 or 5 kids for a few hours- you know where to send them! We luv u guys!

Oh yeah, that's right, you don't get sick. Well, if you're tired and/or need a break, then... we would be happy to help out/babysit/do whatever!

By the way, were those "waxy, chocolate donuts" a craving? Do you get cravings?

Michelle - YES! #9 is coming soon to a Black Family near you! Thanks!

Jenny - Thanks for leaving a comment. Now I know you are not lying and really do read my blog. =0) Thanks for the cheers!

Julie - Really. #9. Crazy, isn't it! And I am SO excited! BTW, I'm slow. Why call me Catwoman?

Mom not Mum - YES!! Nothing new, I am preggers. Thanks!

cjane - Sometime in the beginning of May. I'm excited to share in the stages of this adventure with you! And thanks so much for always being complimentary of our family. It's another reason to love you.

Cari - Thanks so much! Forget the bottled water and join the party!

Emily - Thanks, and nice to meet you (I checked out your blog - fun stuff there!)

Cami - Thanks, and thanks for the super-sized cookie sandwich.

Annette - Thanks for your offers. I always know you are serious about it. And yes, my cravings have been waxy-donuts and Chili-cheese Fritos (gross!! but so good, you know?) The extent of my sickness is feeling nausea. Then I immediately eat and it goes away. The problem is that this has been happening nights, so I'm eating right before bed and am worried about the result upon my girlish figure. But I'm happy!

Congrats, Gerb! You will soon have as many kids as I do! At last count I was at 28 since I just had a student move to Salt Lake.

Wait just a darn minute...does this mean that classroomofchaos just lost their room mom?

Teachin4th-
Thanks! I'm still in as room slave...er, mom. Baby won't be here until May, so I'll just have to find someone else to coordinate and collect funds for the teacher's end of the year gift and the last few Fat Fridays. Any ideas??

"Catwoman" because Cami said you were the "lucky bearer of nine lives." Yeah, it's a stretch. But what do you expect? That preggo brain is kicking in.

Yeah, you'd better read that again.
